Bank transfer, Multibanco and MB WAY at Ginga

The banking route covers three things that behave slightly differently: a classic SEPA transfer from your current account, a Multibanco reference you pay at an ATM or in home banking, and MB WAY, which pushes the request to the phone number your bank has on file. All three end up in the same place — a euro balance funded straight from a Portuguese bank account, with no wallet and no card scheme in between. It is the slowest rail in the cashier and the one with the most generous limits, which is exactly the trade its users are making.

Depositing by bank transfer

A SEPA transfer starts at 25 €, a little above the 20 € floor that applies elsewhere, because the handling cost is the same whether you send 25 € or 2 500 €. Select it in the cashier, note the IBAN and the reference shown, and send exactly that amount from your own account with the reference intact — a payment with a missing reference has to be matched by hand and that is where days disappear. Sent inside banking hours it can settle the same day; sent after the cut-off, on a Saturday or on a Portuguese public holiday, it waits for the next business day.

Multibanco and MB WAY are the quicker cousins and both start at 20 €. A Multibanco reference is a three-part code — entity, reference, amount — that you pay at any ATM or in your bank's app, and the credit follows within minutes. MB WAY sends a request to your registered phone number: approve it in the app and the balance moves in seconds. Neither carries a fee from Ginga, and neither exposes a card number to the operator. If you want the whole cashier walkthrough first, read how to deposit at Ginga.

Withdrawing to your bank account

The minimum withdrawal is 20 €. Ginga reviews the request within 24 hours, and in our tests the money then reached the account in one to three business days — a Friday afternoon approval typically landed on Tuesday, because the banking rail rests at the weekend even though the casino does not. That is slower than Skrill at one to two hours or Trustly at one to twenty-four hours, and faster than a card refund at three to five business days.

The IBAN must be in the account holder's own name. This is not a formality that support can wave through: an operator is only permitted to pay the person who deposited, so an account in a partner's or a parent's name is rejected outright and the request comes back unpaid. Verification asks for a citizen card or passport, a proof of address dated within the last three months, and a statement header or bank app screenshot showing the IBAN alongside your name. Upload all of it right after registration and the payout runs on schedule; the full sequence is in how to withdraw at Ginga.

Limits, fees and when the bank rail wins

Bank transfer carries the highest caps in the cashier — per transaction, per day and per month — which makes it the default for anyone moving four-figure sums that a card would simply decline. Ginga charges nothing in either direction. What can appear is a fee from your own bank on an outgoing transfer, which is unusual on a domestic euro payment but not impossible on some account packages. Because everything is denominated in euros on both sides, there is no currency conversion to absorb, unlike a wallet held in another currency.

Common reasons a bank payment stalls

If a payment is outside its window, take a screenshot showing the date, amount and reference to live chat — a specific transfer is traced by that reference and by nothing else.

FAQ

Why is the bank transfer minimum 25 € and not 20 €?
Because the cost of handling a SEPA transfer does not shrink with the amount, the floor sits slightly higher than on instant rails. Multibanco and MB WAY start at the usual 20 €, so if the exact minimum matters, use one of those instead of a classic transfer.
Can the money go to an account in someone else's name?
No. The IBAN has to belong to the account holder, and the name is checked against the verification documents before the payout is released. A request pointing at a partner's or a relative's account is rejected and returned unpaid, which costs several days and has to be resubmitted correctly.
How long does a bank withdrawal really take?
Up to 24 hours for the operator's internal approval, then one to three business days on the banking rail. Weekends and Portuguese public holidays do not count, so a Friday evening request commonly lands on Tuesday. Nothing on the casino side accelerates the bank stage once the transfer has been sent.
Is MB WAY treated as a bank transfer or as a wallet?
As a bank rail. MB WAY is tied to the phone number registered with your Portuguese bank and draws directly on the account behind it, so the same name-matching and verification rules apply. The practical difference is speed: approval in the app credits the balance in seconds rather than the next business day.
